A u r e u s ' Tibia W e b si t e

This is what my first draft for the title of this page looked like, which at the time was still a section of " Outlaw's Chat Homepage " was planned.

I still remember exactly. From the homepage of a friend from the chat ("world record", in Tibia he was "Mister X": M @ tt-Clan homepage ) I found out about Tibia for the first time. Soon I had downloaded it and wanted to make my way to this new, as yet unknown country. Unfortunately, my urge to discover was already inhibited before I could see Quentin for the first time: My first impression of Tibia was "Error: No server running on host".
I did not understand this cryptic message and gave up after 10 minutes of trying. Then I rummaged around a little on CIP's page and found my way to Yorin's message board.
I can still remember a message I read that day: someone noticed that activity in the (then new) Guards House was mainly limited to non-stop players who wanted to get from the depot to the north gate. I had little to do with this news.
It wasn't until a week later, on June 18, 1998, that I really came to Tibia (without having read the help on the homepage beforehand. A mistake, as it turned out later).
Back then, inspired by my chat nickname, I chose the (embarrassing me now;)) name "Outlaw the Great". I spoke briefly to Quentin and then set off (pushing a coal basin next to me through town, it was just night) and soon came across the arcade. Interested, I entered the building and went down a few ladders to the chess room. However, when I wanted to get out again, I couldn't climb the ladders again. I looked for another level 1 player from the list ("Hazel-Rah"; I didn't dare bother a higher player because of such a banal problem) and asked him for help. Fortunately, he had read the instructions and explained it to me.
Soon after, after I met Frodo and got lost in the castle,
Right after logging in the next day, a certain "King Henry" (or was it "Sir Henry"?) Yelled who could use a Leather Helmet and Leather Armor. I answered quickly.
Soon I began to have doubts about my name. I opened an English dictionary and found "aureus: golden" there. When Aureus logged in for the first time, however, he was eaten by spiders right next to Quentin, which Helios and another player had brought there.
On that day a player, "Efendor", asked me for food because he was poisoned. I gave him my apple. Then I heard broadcasts of a certain "Sonne" that sounded desperate (even wanted to stop?), Since it had just been killed by a ghoul in the city, Another yell: "Chaotic" shouted that he had 300 gold pieces to give away. I immediately asked him where he was, whereupon he replied "depot". When I asked where that was, I got the answer "I don't know" ;-). A nice player (unfortunately I forgot his name) showed me the way.
Under King Henry's guidance I then climbed into the canal where I came across the giant rats. There, however, 10 minutes later I was pelted with spears by "Guester". Since Guester was apparently a thief too, he was killed by "lostboy" soon afterwards. Since that experience, Guester had changed over to the good side and became one of my first friends.
Incidentally, on this day I also baked 23 loaves of bread:
Finally, already at level 8, I have collected enough gold (800) to be able to become a paladin.
A few days ago I spent all my gold on equipment, namely a Helmet of the Stars and an Enchanted Armor. So far I have died 3 times in Tibia and only narrowly escaped death once, when I was attacked by a bear and 4 trolls as a level 5 character in the troll cave near the cemetery (if I remember correctly it was "Androsy". )
Some of my experiences in no particular chronological order:
When I was standing on the big intersection, a player named "Myrlochar" (he was about level 14 at the time, I think) came over and put a Helmet of Hermes in front of my feet. I was terribly shocked and quickly ran away, but was then called back by him and realized that it was nothing more than a helmet that Myrlochar wanted to give me.
I can also remember my first encounter with the demon to which "Darion Nirraven" showed me the way and made sure that I did not die (I was level 14 at the time).
It has been a long time since Morgensterne and Battle Shields were available to buy from players for 20 gold pieces, as the quickly respawning Rotworms had lots of them and Sam still refused to buy them.
Back then there were also exciting and dangerous monster attacks on the city organized by CIP.
I killed the first demon with "Dunsinane", the second with "Crimson Dragon" and the third with "Jade" and "Betrayal".
But the memories are unfortunately not exclusively positive, the day Dunsinane / Slade died was terrible. Two days earlier we had joked with each other by email.
Because he had run for the Miss Tibia '98 election. Hence the non-existent start number 7 in this election (the related page is still online). The winner, by the way, was the sun before Grendel and Rebel's Angel.
Once I wanted to start a democratic Tibetan guild together with "Irian" and "Simony". This plan then failed because Irian strangely disappeared (he was never to be found again via ICQ, Mail or in Tibia) and left Simony Tibia. Later, the Brotherhood of Alioth was formed together with Mort, whom I got to know in the GCT - see below - .
I also look back positively on the founding of the Golden Chariot Tavern with Crimson Dragon and Karth (at that time still Debtolas) and on the many funny hours I spent with Karth.
The biggest rush of adrenaline: Once, at the time of the good (?) Old Protection Zone, I fought a wild box-pushing battle with a thief (from the north gate to the east gate to the Sunset Homes to Frodo and then finally to the depot), once I was from killed an invisible player killer while fishing (thanks to McLaine who got my things back), once my apartment door was open for a while "thanks" to Logbug (SD runes, Giant Sword and Key 0007 in it; thanks to Ghorkan and Ishara), once Kronos-CK shot me in the street, and twice I witnessed the murder of a high-level player next to me (Prophet and Rabscuttle). Oh yes, another very exciting experience was the hunt for "The Terminator",
Special greetings to the Beholder (I hope to see him again someday) and Dunsinane (whom I first encountered when he sold me a Morning Star), Karth Blackdagger, Yorin (whom I first saw as he had turned into a deer) and Zelda Haffax (whom I met on Yorin's King's Quest ). I miss you (and many others, such as Green Druid / Wanderer or Ghorkan of course)!
Players I "lured" to Tibia are Jade and Olaf.

A side detail: At first I was dressed entirely in gold, with a gold helmet. Then I took off that helmet and let my black hair come out. A few months ago I exchanged my gold pants for red ones.

My Tibia News, a newspaper for Tibia, was never published. I gave up the project due to lack of time, the first edition, as I said, never posted online can be viewed here.
